About Us

Kerry Marshall, lead clinical assessor at Aspen Drug rehabilitation clinic

Our Story

We have developed our internal practises over many years in diverse medial environments and have honed excellent culture and abilities in the process.

Unsatisfied withe standardized solutions in the addiction recovery sector, Kerry and Hamish took it on themselves to start again with other likeminded medical professionals to develop drug intervention therapies and support that are like no other. Aspen is our first location and others will follow.

Addiction is one of the most complex and costly neuropsychiatric disorders globally, affecting both the brain and behavior that can be life changing.

In the United States alone, more than 40 million people live with a substance use disorder. That number is higher than the total number of Americans affected by all other major medical conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, and many forms of cancer combined.

But because it’s hidden, only seen when the worst side of us emerges at the worst time, it is, like the opiate explosion (and part of it), something that is getting worse but that could be so easily dealt with, which is our core mission.

Beyond its increasing prevalence, alcohol and drug addiction can also be profoundly dangerous. It impacts physical health, mental health, families, and actually entire communities. Because of its devastating potential, prevention, early intervention, and effective treatment are absolutely essential.

Here are some key facts about addiction:

  1. Addiction can touch anyone, anywhere. It crosses every demographic barrier: age, background, income, and education level.
  • Multiple factors influence addiction risk. Genetics, environment, trauma history, age of first use, mental health conditions, and social influences all play a role in whether someone develops a substance use disorder. These same factors also help determine which treatments will be most effective.
  • Addiction is a treatable medical disease. Recovery is possible with the right support. Evidence-based approaches – including behavioral therapies, medications, and long-term recovery support to help people regain control of their lives.
  • Science-based medicine drives progress. Advances in neuroscience, psychology, pharmacology, and public health continue to shape more effective prevention and treatment strategies. Ongoing research expands our understanding of addiction and leads to new, more personalized treatments.

Our core mission is simple: to deliver the highest-quality care using the latest scientific knowledge. We draw from multiple disciplines, from human biology to population health, and to develop approaches that are compassionate, effective, and grounded in evidence.

Ultimately, our goal is to help transform lives. That means yours, your family’s, and your community’s by providing care that supports lasting recovery and long-term well-being.
